Time passes

So, this week was our anniversary (or as Kennedy calls it, our anniwawaee). Last year we were in Mombasa on the Indian Ocean. Two years ago we were at Disneyland. This year... well this year we ate leftovers and watched American Idol. Some people might find that depressing. I haven't decided whether I'm one of those people or not!! It may not have been the epitome of romance, but at least there were beautiful roses on the table... from the grocery store... where I bought them... I figured I'd give Kennedy a break, since we were too tired and too cheap to really go anywhere. Plus, he got me flowers and chocolate for Mother's Day, along with three Mother's Day cards. That way, he won't be in the doghouse for the next two Mother's Days...

Aside from celebrating our anniversary, we've been getting ready to move. So far very little packing has actually occurred... I just plan what I'm going to pack and where. What can I say, I'm good at planning... not so good at executing.

We've also been taking life one day at a time. Kaelen is (hopefully) starting to settle into a routine. Kaelen wakes up around 2, I kick Kennedy, he takes the child out to feed him and then comes back around 3. Kaelen wakes up again around 6, this time I get up; he eats, sleeps some more, spits up on me, poops on me, laughs at me, and then decides he wants to eat again. We repeat this until daddy comes home at around 6. At this point, I hand the child off to him, go take a shower, do some laundry, complain that I haven't been able to get anything done all day, try to convince Kaelen he's sleepy, and go to bed. Yes, life is thrilling.

Today I decided to shake things up a bit by dressing Kaelen up in cute clothes and taking pictures since there have been complaints about the lack of new pictures. So, without further ado, here is the cutest kid ever.
He seemed to like having the blankie over his head...
What a chunk!
"You have no idea what this woman is putting me through..."
These are supposed to be shorts...

NAKED BOY!!! (almost)

"......."

"Mooooommmmm..."

What a cutie! I love his hair.

Sometimes my days seem awfully routine and yet, when she shakes things up, I wish she'd be more like usual. ;-)

One thing that surprised me about motherhood was how constantly your baby is with you and needs you. I had younger siblings and baby-sat a lot growing up, but those experiences let me woefully unprepared for the 24/7 nature of parenthood.
